I (David) was born in Limburg the most southern province of The Netherlands. After I finished primary school we moved to the western part of the country. I studied computer science at a university. Later on I started to work in finance. For eight years I was a volunteer working in church in my town. That church is called a Church of the Nazarene. I served there with the local NYI, that is the Nazarene Youth International. From 2015 till the coronavirus pandemic I was about three months per year away from home doing missionary work.
Thinking about myself I think I can mention that I like to enjoy life itself. I believe God created this world for us to enjoy. Of course this doesn't mean abusing the planet. But when we think of nature around us, it's not hard to be amazed at the beauty of a deep red sky at the time of sunset.
However as beautiful as the world sometimes may be, the life over here is a temporarily thing. Maybe not everyone asks this, but I feel it's an important question where we are from and where we are going to. Maybe it's because of my computer science study, that I feel it's extremely hard to believe that life over here is just a coincidence. When we look at our bodies and nature around us it's almost impossible not to acknowledge God the Creator. Even though this world sometimes is a very bad place to live, I like to share the message that we should not give up hope. God didn't just abandon His creation, he made the way back to Him. The message even gets more interesting that His only Son once entered this world to make it possible to come and have everlasting life. That's why I love the message of Christmas so very much.
In 2015, 2016 and 2017 I was part of a Christmas show. It was with puppets and I was for about five to six weeks in Ireland. Also in 2018 and 2019 I was involved in Christmas shows.
Because of my computer study and hobby in the past, I like to use Linux as the operating system for computers. I have fun working with a Raspberry Pi and be able to do all kinds of normal things on it. I use LibreOffice for writing letters or helping out my family with some financial calculations. I use The Gimp for editing the photos used on this website. On the other hand, I do like to have a walk outside in the evening. I think I don't spend very much of my time with computers.
A small remark: things like poetry on this blog contain my personal ideas. They are not from my work in finance or IT.
